Want to know a cute and creative way to personalize a dorm? In 2015, at the beginning of Spring semester, there was a snow day so I decided to decorate my room with a heart made of the travel photos I had taken from studying abroad in Australia. Fortunately, I found the heart-shaped photo template on Pinterest and it’s a wonderful way to display photographs!
the break down of the heart is as follows (from the top down):
First, you’ll need 40 images printed out (I used 3 x 2 dimensions) and preferably painter’s tape.
- 2 rows of 2 photos
- 2 rows of 3 photos
- 7 photos
- 7 photos
- 6 photos
- 4 photos
- 3 photos
- 2 photos
- 1 photo
Overall, there are nine rows in total. As a tip, I would start with the two rows of 7 photos in the 3rd and 4th row of the heart first and then arrange the top and bottom of the heart after.
Next, put rolled up tape behind each photo to attach it to the wall you want to put the heart on. Finally, step back from afar and rearrange the photos to your liking. Also, try to experiment with the variety of photos and colors you use.
Seriously, this is so perfect for dorms because then you won’t damage the walls. I don’t know if this has changed but when I was in college, some they could charge you for damages made to the walls of your room. So this way you get to customize to your heart’s content. ;P
How do you display photographs on your wall? If you have more interior decorating inspiration I’d love to see it!
