Hello everyone, happy #WellnessWednesday! I know it’s a crazy time right now and in lieu of the regularly scheduled Wellness Wednesday Guest Post, I’d like to feature a post written by Miranda that she shared in one of our mutual Facebook groups. She has her own Facebook group called, Wake up Wellness!
Here’s Miranda’s post:
Good afternoon my beautiful people!! 🌤
.
I’ve been doing a lot on mindset and mental health. 📚 I wanted to share what’s helping me!
.
The world is f***ed up right now. 🌎
I’m feeling it in my own ways too, and it’s OK.
.
We need to go easy on ourselves. Cut us some slack! Esp. as entrepreneurs/ workaholics 😅
.
We are all trying to navigate and adapt ⛵️
while flooded with new stressors and obstacles.
.
Some we may not even realize are taking a toll…
💻 Like, overconsumption of tech
🏃♀️ Lack of movement
.
I’ve found myself in fight or flight mode, spread thin, stressed.
At a race with myself to accomplish the billion things a new business needs. Working 24/7 🌘✨
Always feeling like I should be getting more done, faster, then get bent out of shape when I don’t.
Well, I think I understand now. 💡
Pushing ourselves so extreme won’t help us achieve our goals and dreams faster, it’ll actually create a chain reaction & do the opposite.
People are like plants. 🌱 ( – the still part)
We NEED sunshine, nutrients, fresh air, connection, nurturing, and love. 💗
.
We’re not meant to be confined or shut out, or glued to a screen 👩💻 ALL day + night working.
.
We should let ourselves cope w/ the trauma this pandemic brings, rest, eat nutritious foods, and focus on 1 thing at a time. No rat race.
I’ll be posting (+ using) mindset, mental health tips & tricks, the best coping as we try to navigate this pandemic, TOGETHER.
.
I want us to come out of this BETTER than we went it, and overflowing with health & wealth 🙌
.
⚡️Might be a little scathed, but hey, it’ll make for a COOL scar 😉 😘
.
.
Mindset Tip:
🛑 NEVER allow negative self-talk to go unchecked
👇 INSTEAD, DO THIS:
When a negative 💭 pops up, simply acknowledge it, observe it (where’s it stemming from?), then REPLACE it with a positive affirmation!
.
Over time, you’ll TRAIN your brain to break that pattern of negative thinking 🧠
.
This WILL change your life. I’ve done it. And now I practice it again – to lift me up through this. 🌤
.
• Change:
“I’ll never be good enough/ like them”
.
or “I failed today, I can’t do this ”
.
or “I’m so lonely, nobody cares about me”
.
• Into:
“I’m getting better every day, closer to my goals. I’m grateful for my uniqueness, I am one of a kind!”
.
.
“I did my best today. Tomorrow, I will try ____ . I’m making Progress, not perfection.”
.
“I love myself 💖 I cherish my time to focus on my needs and enjoying my passions. I’ll meet my person when the time is right”
.
Just trust me on this, I paid a lot of time, $, and heartache to learn this the hard way. 😉
♥️ Luh you guys, Take care
.

Thanks for your Lovely Words Miranda! Stay Healthy and Safe, Everyone!

This is indeed a very strange time for everyone and a time where it is easy to fall into negative thought patterns or get wrapped up in technology, social media and endless tv loops of the same negative stories. Negativity is all around us these days. Rioting, looting, people being killed by the police, politics, you name it. It is more important than ever to take a break and step away and try to find the positive in everything. Love this.
I really noticed the lack of movement March to June. At school, I’m constantly walking, but I was confined to the table while teaching from home. I need to make a conscious effort to walk early in the day.
Your post resonates with me as someone who has the capacity to work a lot… but I can sense it’s not healthy. I’m working on building in caring for myself as much as I can while doing what I can for my work and my projects that is doable for me.. but my health comes first.
This is such a great reminder! I’ll be honest, I have also fallen into the trap of always trying to be busy like I should be working 24/7, and it’s just not realistic. We need to give ourselves some downtime to rest, recuperate and recenter ourselves. This past week, we went camping for 9 days and that opportunity to step away and unplug reminded me of how good that is for my mental and emotional health.
This was a great message! Our mindset is so important, especially right now. It can be so easy to fall into negative patterns. Thank you for the great reminder!
It is great post, the times we live in is so strange and disturbing, my life totally changed but it’s mixes, some changes are good
Well I never thought that anything like this would be around in my lifetime. IT is crazy times, but hopefully soon things will start to normalise x
I’ve been spending far too much time staring at a screen lately, and suffering a lot more headaches than normal. It’s frustrating when I feel like I need to be doing something all the time, instead of just mindlessly watching tv or some other useless waste of my time. Slack isn’t something I’m good at giving myself! Thank you for the reminder that I still need to give it though.
Great tips, it can be really challenging to adapt to this new world that we are dealing with. I love the fact that she mentions acknowledging the negative thought and finding out where it came from, as that is super important.
